Born December 1965 in Abilene Texas. Sensei Rhodes first became involved in the
Martial Arts in 1992 when he enrolled his nephew in Kajukembo, since he was
already there he decided to start. In a short period of time he was working out four
days a week. After about a year of training he felt that something was lacking. Even
while becoming a better fighter he still did not feel the progression towards
becoming a more rounded person. Then in 1993 he went, on the advice of a friend,
to a Kyokushinkai Dojo. It was his most physical work out ever, from that time he has
devoted him self to Kyokushin, Following the Way of Truth. Sensei Rhodes earned
his Shodan rank in May 2000. His Nidan in June 2005.Sensei Rhodes teaches at
Redbud YMCA in Abilene TX , under the watchful eye of his teacher Shihan Steve
Hood. He is married to RuthAnn and has three great kids Jody, Jamie and Stephen
.Sensei Rhodes was appointed as The North Texas Branch Chief of the American
Kyokushin Karate Organization on September 9th 2006 and resigned September 7th
2007. I continue to support and belong to the AKKO.
